대동전 (大東錢) Daedong Jeon

1880년대에 조선은 화폐 현대화 시작하게 되었습니다. 이 중에 대동전이 있습니다. 대동정은 1전, 2전, 3전 분류로 되며 이는 은으로 만든 주전화(鑄錢貨)입니다. 앞면에 호조주전소의 "戶"약자가 있고 칠보가 있습니다. 칠보는 흑, 청, 주황, 초록 등 여러 색으로 분류됩니다. 1882년에 대동전은 상평통보와 같이 유통되었는데 귀금속으로 만들어서 부자의 손에 들어가나 해외로 흘러 나가 사실 유통량이 감소되었습니다. 추가로 대동전의 원료로 사용하던 수입된 중국 은마제의 가격이 폭등하여 원가가 비싸졌고 수입하기가 점점 어려워져서 1883년 6월에 주조가 중단되었습니다. 

In the 1880s Joseon began to modernize its currency. Among these modern coins were the Daedongjeon. Joseon made Daedong 1, 2, and 3 Jeon coins cast from melted, imported Chinese silver sycee. On the front is the character "戶", representing the abbreviation for the Treasury Department. The inner circle is often colored black, blue, orange, green, etc. These high value silver coins circulated with Sangpyeong Tongbo from 1882. However, most ended up in the hands of the rich or were taken out of the country due to silver content. Thus, the number of coins actually in circulation at the time is believed to be low. Finally, the price of the imported Chinese sycee silver increased rapidly, increasing the value of the coin and making importing the raw silver more difficult. Due to these issues, the Treasury Department ended the production of Daedongjeon in June 1883.
