1880년대에 조선은 화폐 현대화 시작하게 되는데 1884년부터 1891년까지 조선의 전환국은 다양한 상평통보 주조 및 압인 시주화를 발행했습니다. 이 동전은 시주화로 판단하지만 실제로 몇개는 상평통보와 같이 통용되었습니다.

Joseon began modernizing its currency in the 1880s and Korea's first machine-pressed coin came in 1884. From 1884 to 1891 the Central Government Mint minted various Sangpyeong Tongbo pattern/test coins. Despite them being test coins, some of them actually circulated with Sangpyeong Tongo.
